Join LIVE of the Committee
The Plaza District came out of a rut with the help from the heart of the neighborhood residents, local volunteers and four inspired business. The goal was to grow the trendy, creative, eclectic group of businesses, artist and creative minds into a thriving arts district of Oklahoma City. The dedication and heart of these amazing people grew the Plaza into a district to be proud of. The Plaza District wanted to bring creative arts to the Plaza. This eclectic group of flavorful businesses has grown to become a district to be proud of the local artists, trendy shops and creative minds. Plaza District is now home to art galleries, studios, retail shops, restaurants, and creative services. Before long the neighborhood collaborated together and a non-profit organization of The Plaza District Association was born. The goal was to support the district businesses and offer arts opportunities and experiences to the community. The Plaza District Association works with property owners, business owners, neighborhoods, residents, artists and the City of Oklahoma City. This district, once blighted by urban decay now boasts a renewed energy embraced by Oklahoma City’s youth and diverse culture. Each Second Friday of the month from 7-11pm, we celebrate LIVE on the Plaza, a monthly art walk featuring live music, featured artists, special events and local shopping. The attendance of LIVE has quickly grown to 800 plus and the interest from local vendors has exploded that we cannot keep them away. So here is where you can help this stupendous cause. A committee is forming of individuals who are driven and willing to help participate in LIVE on the Plaza District. The committee will brainstorm new activities, solve issues and help plan and organize for future growth of LIVE. If interested please email Kristen Vails at kristen@plazadistrict.org Also more information is available at the Plaza District Web site http://www.plazadistrict.org/ and blog at https://plazadistrict.wordpress.com/ Come and be apart of the Plaza District family.
