How can Plaza District better use our public spaces? How can we add or improve our existing public spaces and infastructure? These are questions we will be addressing at a brainstorming session tomorrow evening with Blair Humphreys as facilitator. We want have open, creative dialogue about helping the Plaza District support our growing pedestrian experience.

Join us at the Plaza District offices at 6:30pm. We will be doing some walking tours as well, so dress comfortable to be outdoors!

Plaza District offices are located at 1618 Gatewood Avenue. Gatewood is the one-way street on the south side of 16th across from the Everything Goes Dance Studio. Typically on street parking is available here, but free to park anywhere on the street. Our office is accessed through a door between two oval windows, upstairs, ourt logo is on the door. I can’t be there tomorrow night, but I would love it if we could spread out the outdoor market/music a bit. The sidewalk from Coffey’s to Bad Granny’s gets so clogged up on Live on the Plaza and last time I had to walk through a band’s set to get to a store. I hate that cause I felt rude, but it was the only option. I noticed across the street, in front of PhotoArt, there was nothing there and maybe if the bands set up there, that will help clear the way for those shopping. Just an idea!

Great, you’re right. It is getting clogged down there during LIVE. Thanks for the comment!!

    Oh, another add….

If there is anyway we can get some additional stop signs or even some speed bumps or something to slow down the traffic, that would be great. Crossing the street, even in cross walks, can be a little scary, as well as backing out of the street parking on 16th. I am amazed by how many cars drive SO fast down that street, even during Live when there are a ton of people around.
