@1614 Showcases Oklahoma City Artists midwestmedia & marketing, inc. captures creativity with gallery, video & viewing
Oklahoma City, OK, April 6, 2010 – midwestmedia & marketing, inc. proudly presents their newest endeavor – @1614, a promotional campaign highlighting local artists through video webisodes, a display gallery and monthly open house.
Produced and presented by midwestmedia & marketing, @1614 will be a venue for art lovers to visit the office of midwestmedia & marketing, inc and view breakthrough art created by local Oklahoma City artists.
“We’re passionate about promoting cutting-edge artists in Oklahoma City and our office in the Plaza District gives us an amazing opportunity to provide artists physical space and creative support,” Christopher Hunt, midwestmedia & marketing, inc owner, said.
Each month, a selected artist will display their creative work in the midwestmedia & marketing, inc. office located at 1614 N. Gatewood in the Plaza District. An innovative webisode video called @1614, will be produced by midwestmedia & marketing, inc. to promote the artist and their work. The pinnacle of the collaboration is an open house the second Friday of every month in conjunction with Live on the Plaza hosted by @1614 in the midwestmedia & marketing, inc. office.
“We’re aiming to promote the growing artistic community here in Oklahoma City, while showcasing the benefits of creative collaboration,” Hunt said. “It’s the essence of the Plaza District.”
The first @1614 viewing happens Friday, April 9, 2010 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. at 1614 N. Gatewood Avenue in the historic Plaza District.
The artist featured during the inaugural opening of @1614 is mixed media artist Bryan Boone.
Boone was born and currently lives in Oklahoma City. Primarily self-taught, Boone works in mixed-media exploring the fundamentals of structure, form and space.
“I am inspired by architecture, mechanics, infrastructure, and design,” Boone said. “My work explores structure and shape set against noise and underlying forms. To create these environments I construct in layers, establishing initial planes of disorder first. As the world takes shape, forms emerge and construct the subject. By creating a full environment for the foreground structures, the designs gain context and therefore contrast and focus.”
For more information on @1614, sponsored by midwestmedia & marketing, inc., visit www.mwmediamarketing.com and the event page at http://tinyurl.com/booneat1614. For more information on Bryan Boone, please visit www.bryanboone.com.

Along with book writer David Stern, Mr. Schwartz has woven together treasured songs from his musicals past to tell the enchanting story of a couple who have fallen out of love. But when they come across photographs that stir up joyous memories of the past, their many years together come alive in front of them. You’ll recognize favorites from Wicked, Pippin, Godspell, Children of Eden, and Rags among many more musical gems, all with Schwartz’s own revised lyrics that beautifully tell this heartwarming, romantic story.

Three hilarious shadow puppets narrate both ancient tragedy and modern comedy in this beautifully animated interpretation of the Indian epic Ramayana. Adventus:a city-wide art collaborative at LIVE this Friday!
Learn more about this upcoming art show happening at the Convergence Collective this Friday here
What is Adventus?
Adventus is a city-wide art collaborative responding to the season of Advent.
Christmas and the holiday season has become rather thin for our culture. It comes and goes year after year without us giving much thought to what we’re really doing other than going into debt in gift purchases and thinking about our wish list. We wondered if there was a way to call Oklahoma City to actually take time to think about this season of Advent, reflect on it, its complexities, as well as its beauty, allowing all of us to approach this time of the year with a new vision and understanding. Adventus is playing out practically in two ways:
1) A Call To The Artists
We’ve called all local artists to take time to intentionally engage with this season, and then respond by creating artwork that expresses some of the things they’ve learned or saw along the way.
2) A Call To The City
On Dec. 11th, we’re inviting the city to see the variety of responses submitted to Adventus during Live in the Plaza. We will be hosting an art show at Convergence as well as live performances (music, poetry, etc.) from 7pm-11pm.
